Privacy Statement

At Raymond James Bank, we recognize the importance of protecting and accurately maintaining your personal information and of preserving your trust. This has always been important to us, not just as a result of privacy legislation. We have developed a privacy and information security policy to ensure that your information is carefully safeguarded. We use physical, procedural, and electronic safeguards to guard your information. This notice describes our security and information-sharing practices and also provides suggestions for ways you can personally safeguard your private information.

Information We Collect

We collect and use nonpublic personal information about you in order to provide the highest possible level of client service and to make available conveniences you expect as part of your relationship with us (for example, access to your accounts through ATMs nationwide). We collect this information from several sources:

  • Information you provide on applications or other forms, from your communication or correspondence with us, or information provided to us through an affiliate,
  • Information from transactions you conduct with Raymond James Bank and the Raymond James affiliated family of companies, and
  • Information we receive from third parties, such as credit reporting agencies or your employer, to verify information you have provided to us or to provide services you request.

Information We Share

We may share information from these sources with trusted business partners to provide the banking services you request. Outside vendors, who operate within strict confidentiality agreements, provide such account related functions as check printing or ATM/Visa® debit card production and processing. We carefully select the companies we work with and any information shared for business purposes must be kept strictly confidential.

We also share deposit and loan information within the Raymond James family of companies in order to provide you with the financial services that best meet your needs. Before sharing with our affiliates transactional information or credit information from loan applications we will provide you with separate opportunities to “opt out” of sharing this information under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. These opt out opportunities will be provided at the time you complete your loan application and again when you close your loan. Deposit account information will not be shared unless you choose to link your deposit account to a Raymond James investment account for consolidated statement purposes or unless you instruct us to share the information.

We will not share personal customer information with a non-affiliate unless we have previously informed you of the intended sharing (generally to provide you with a requested banking service), you have authorized us to share your information, or we are required by law or our regulators to share the information. We make disclosures to other non-affiliated third parties as permitted by law.

Only employees who are trained in safeguarding your nonpublic personal information and who have been properly authorized have access to this information. We maintain physical, electronic and procedural safeguards to protect your nonpublic personal information.

Internet Privacy

Personal information that you provide to us via our Internet website is strictly protected. To ensure this level of security, numerous passwords, information systems firewalls, and other forms of security are used. Encryption helps protect your private data sent to us via the Internet from interception by a third party. Information sent via email, however, is not encrypted, so no personal information should be sent to Raymond James Bank using email.

To enhance our client service capabilities, we will occasionally use a “cookie” on our Internet website. A cookie is a small file that our web server can store on the hard drive of a client’s PC and retrieve the next time the client logs onto our site, allowing the use of systems such as Raymond James Internet Banking. Cookies do not contain any information that will enable anyone to contact you via telephone or email.

Ways You Can Help Protect Your Private Information

There are a number of ways you can protect your personal information, including:

  • Shredding or destroying receipts, old bank statements and unused credit card offers,
  • Protecting your PINs and passwords for ATM, debit or credit cards and Internet Banking, and
  • Reporting lost or stolen checks, ATM/debit cards, and other access devices as soon as possible.
