Eastern, the transfer will take place on the next business day. SecurityQ: Is my financial information safe here?A: This Raymond James Bank Internet Banking service brings together a combination of industry-approved security technologies to protect data for the bank and for you, our customer. It features password-controlled system entry, a RSA Security-issued Digital ID for Raymond James Bank's server, Secure Sockets Layer ("SSL") protocol for data encryption, and a router loaded with a firewall to regulate the inflow and outflow of server traffic. Secure Access and Verifying User AuthenticityTo begin a session with the Raymond James Bank's server the user must key in a login ID and a password. Our system, the Raymond James Bank Internet Banking service, uses a "3 strikes and you're out" lock-out mechanism to deter abusers from repeated login attempts. After three unsuccessful login attempts, the system locks the user ID out, requiring a phone call to Raymond James Bank to verify the password before re-entry into the system. Upon successful log-in, the Digital ID from RSA, the experts in digital identification certificates, authenticates the user's identity and establishes a secure session with that visitor. Secure Data TransferOnce the server session is established, the user and the server are in a secured environment. Because the server has been certified as a 128-bit secure server by RSA Security, data traveling between the user and the server is encrypted with Secure Sockets Layer ("SSL") protocol. With SSL, data that travels between Raymond James Bank and the customer is encrypted and can only be decrypted with the public and private key pair. In short, Raymond James Bank's server issues a public key to the end user's browser and creates a temporary private key. These two keys are the only combination possible for that session. When the session is complete, the keys expire and the whole process starts over when a new end user makes a server session. You can check whether or not you have 128-bit security already installed in your browser. In Internet Explorer, click on Help-About Internet Explorer, and in the window you will see "Cipher Strength:" and it will give you your current security strength. In Netscape Navigator, if you click on Help-About Navigator/Communicator, it will tell you what version you have, if it is version 4.0 or greater, you utilize 128-bit encryption. Router and FirewallRequests must filter through a router and firewall before they are permitted to reach the server. A router, a piece of hardware, works in conjunction with the firewall, a piece of software, to block and direct traffic coming to the server. The configuration begins by disallowing all traffic and then opens holes only when necessary to process acceptable data requests, such as retrieving web pages or sending customer requests to Raymond James Bank. Using the above technologies, your Raymond James Bank Internet Banking transactions are secure. And, you can help safeguard your information and the banking system by protecting your password. The login ID and password combination is the only way to get access into your account. Please keep your login ID and password secure. Q: What is the difference between a 128-bit encryption browser and a 40-bit encryption browser?A: The difference between 40-bit (international) encryption and 128-bit (domestic, or strong) encryption is a matter of degrees. Software using 128-bit encryption is roughly 300,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 times stronger than 40-bit encryption. 40-bit encryption is OK for low-risk transactions, but no longer endorsed by respected cryptographers and computer scientists as adequate for financial transactions. They recommend at least 75-bit encryption. 128-bit encryption should be strong enough to prevent security breaches for more than 20 years. SoftwareQ: What software do I need to access Raymond James Bank Internet Banking?A: Raymond James Bank Internet Banking may be accessed on the World Wide Web by going to www.RaymondJamesBank.com. We require that you use a browser that supports 128-bit encryption, and suggest either Netscape Navigator version 4.0 or later or Microsoft Internet Explorer version 4.0 or later. Q: Is Raymond James Bank Internet Banking compatible with software that I already use to manage my money?A: Yes. Raymond James Bank Internet Banking can export transaction information to the leading financial management software packages available today, including Quicken®, Microsoft Money®, and any spreadsheet that can accept standard tab delimited files. Go to the History screen and follow the instructions to download transaction information for your accounts. Please note that since 128-bit encryption is one of the highest forms of data security available today, the U.S. Government restricts its use to citizens and permanent residents of the United States and Canada. Browsers that use 128-bit encryption may only be downloaded to locations in the United States or Canada.
