“First and foremost, we looked for a firm that was client focused, lived up to its expressed cultural values and was large enough to fully support our practice with sophisticated resources and services,” said Sisk. “Additionally, because of our client mix, it was important to us that the firm has comprehensive trust and banking services in house. We also appreciated that Raymond James has a robust technology platform and offers agency-style marketing support. We looked at several firms and did very thorough due diligence, but the only firm that fit, that demonstrated a sincere client-first philosophy and an advisor-focused culture was Raymond James.”

He joined Wheat First Securities in 1991, which was later acquired by First Union and then subsequently by Wells Fargo. He is a graduate of Washington and Lee University with a degree in business administration; and in 2017, 2018 and 2019 was named to Barron’s list of America’s Top 1,200 Advisors1, and in 2018 and 20192 to Forbes Best-in-State Wealth Advisors list.
First Vice President, Investments Marvel began his financial services career in 2003 as an associate with Chesapeake Strategic Advisors. In 2007, he moved to Northwestern Mutual Investment Services and a year later joined Wells Fargo where he partnered with Sisk. A graduate of the College of William & Mary, Marvel is a Chartered Retirement Planning CounselorSM as well as an Accredited Domestic Partnership AdvisorSM – both designations issued by the College for Financial Planning.

“Geoff, Hynson, Jason and Tonita are a wonderful addition to the firm,” said Ferguson. “They are an outstanding, high-quality team, with over 80 years of combined financial services experience, and most importantly, high integrity and a commitment to and focus on their clients. We are excited to welcome them to the Raymond James family, and are proud to have them representing us in the Richmond, Virginia, market.”

The rankings are based on data provided by over 4,000 individual advisors and their firms and include qualitative and quantitative criteria. Factors included in the rankings: assets under management, revenue produced for the firm, regulatory record, quality of practice and philanthropic work. Investment performance is not an explicit component because not all advisors have audited results and because performance figures often are influenced more by clients’ risk tolerance than by an advisor’s investment picking abilities. The ranking may not be representative of any one client’s experience, is not an endorsement, and is not indicative of advisor’s future performance. 2The Forbes ranking of Best-In-State Wealth Advisors, developed by SHOOK Research, is based on an algorithm of qualitative criteria and quantitative data. Those advisors that are considered have a minimum of seven years of experience, and the algorithm weighs factors like revenue trends, AUM, compliance records, industry experience and those that encompass best practices in their practices and approach to working with clients. Portfolio performance is not a criterion due to varying client objectives and lack of audited data. Out of 21,138 advisors nominated by their firms, 2,213 received the award. This ranking is not indicative of an advisor’s future performance, is not an endorsement, and may not be representative of individual clients’ experience.
